Episode Notes

From the classic Mr. Boston: Official Bartender's and Party Guide (copyright 1935) to modern takes on the classics, we discuss the pros and cons of cocktail books and the ones we think are worth owning. Michaela discusses The Essential Cocktail Book: A Complete Guide to Modern Drinks with 150 Recipes, edited by Megan Krigbaum; Gretchen takes us back to prohibition with Contraband Cocktails by Paul Dickson; and Penny tells us about Southern Cocktails: Dixie Drinks, Party Potions, and Classic Libations by Denise Gee. Penny also relates a fabulous story of Southern France before WWII and the cocktails that the beautiful people were drinking. It's a lively episode! Join us!
